Location
This new apartment (2007) complex has a shared swimming pool belonging to the residents of the condomium, a full secure locked entrance and a video security doorbell. The apartment is surrounded by other condominum apartmens and a lovely garden with a park (Parque da Juventude) across the street. The park has a pond and cafe`s to enjoy your evening cappuchino and cake before taking a stroll down to the beach to wander amongst the large cave rocks. The nearest beach Praia da Rocha is about a 15 minute-walk. The shopping centre (Continente, cinema, restaurants etc) is less than 5 minutes of walking distance from the apartment.

Portimão and its municipality have more to offer though. A rich heritage of historical monuments. The eternal natural beauty of the Ria de Alvor. The charm of cultivated fields, of slopes covered with pine trees and wild flowers. The allure of walking up into the hills and looking down on the Algarve from a new perspective. Praia da Rocha has
an extense stretch of sand sheltered by cliffs, the Praia da Rocha (Rock Beach) is known internationally and has for long been Portimão´s "visiting card". Inviting the visitor to sun and sea-baths, the sweeping bay offers excellent conditions for water sports and boat-rides.

In the Portimão area is Armação de Pera with a small 18th Century fortress and a popular location to tourists with its long sandy beach. Praia de Rocha and Praia de Vau both seriously devoted to offering tourist accommodation with the added attractions of good beaches and active nightlife. The beach village of Alvor is another popular tourist location. Still maintaining its village character with its 16th Century Parish Church its small streets teem with life in the tourist season. The village of Carvoeiro is a small charming beach location. The tourist trade happily not yet overpowers the small delightful fishing village of Ferragudo, lying just across the river from Portimão. Slightly inland is Lagoa a small administrative town. The inland city of Silves and its truly interesting historical background is worth a visit. Including in the many true stories are the battles between the Moors, the Crusaders, and the Portuguese. Unfortunately, the city was for the most part destroyed by the earthquake of 1755. The Moorish occupiers considered the city at the turn of the 11th Century as the centre of all true culture in the Iberian Peninsular. Near to the town of Portimão are several sites of interest such as the Caves of Estombar, the mosaic floor of the Roman villa at Figueira, and at Alcalar the recently well restored burial tombs from the Dolman period (around 3.500 BC).

Portugal has a mild climate without extremes of temperature. Winters are never too cold and summers are always moderately hot. The South has a warm, dry Mediterranean climate without extremes of heat.
