General Description
FEATURED ON CHANNEL 4 A PLACE IN THE SUN our holiday home is In a unspoilt part of Spain - with fertile plains, orange groves and small mountains, Gandia adjoins the northern tip of the Costa Blanca - an area called the Costa del Azahar (or the Orange Blossom Coast) Still regarded as the "real Spain" the area does not cater for mass tourist with tour operators, but is a quiet family orientated area where Spanish people take their holidays, and you will need a Spanish phrase book. With over 17kms of Blue Flag beaches, historic castles and palaces, Theme/Safari/Water Parks, Museums, medieval towns and fantastic walking trails - we have it all. You can buy wonderful fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and a large selection of fish, savour the local wines and not a McDonalds in sight. For either a relaxing holiday lazing on the beautiful beaches or sightseeing, you will have a wonderful time. The area is easily accessible from Alicante and Valencia and Barcelona is approximately 4.5 hrs away on the Toll Road.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms
2 Bedrooms (1 double with ceiling fan and 1 twin) both with storage space. The modern fully tiled bathroom has a vanity unit, wc, bath and shower.

Living Areas
The wide Valencian doorway opens onto an large L Shaped living area with vaulted beamed ceilings - our holiday home is believed to be over 100 years old and was blessed by the local priest when the church was built - which is just round the corner. The hallway has seating and is on the cooler side of the house. There is a formal dining area and a further sitting area with TV, fireplace and reverse action air conditioning unit.

Kitchen / Dining
The kitchen/diner opens onto the patio and is modern, fully equipped and has a dining table and chairs.

Swimming Pool
For a small fee the community pool is available in the summer months, but there is an emormous expanse of water just 10 minutes away called the Mediterranean

Outside
Unusual for a town house, to the rear of the property, we have a large private high walled garden with patio, shrubs and small trees, garden furniture and gas bbq. The patio gets the sun most of the day.

Location
We have the best of both worlds, we are between Gandia and Oliva in the small town of Palma de Gandia (see map below) on the outskirts of Gandia where for most of the year the local co-operative picks, sorts and packs oranges. Our apartment has recently been renovated from a large traditional Valencian townhouse which is in a quiet cul-de-sac in the Moorish part of town just off one of the small squares. Ideal for taking a stroll along the narrow streets and passageways, through the orange groves or to the river to spot the fish. The Moorish town of Oliva is approx 8kms away where the castle of Santa Ana dominates the steep narrow Moorish streets. Gandia is just 10 minutes away and either town is convenient for the beaches, shopping, sight seeing, eating or strolling along the paseo in the evening.

Changeover Details
Changeover is flexible but preferably Saturdays.

Extra Details
An ideal place for a holiday whether you enjoy sightseeing, building sandcastles on the beach or walking in the beautiful mountains.

There are interesting days out in Elche, Peniscola, Cullera and Xativa all of which can offer Castles, Roman ruins, museums and churches. Valencia is convenient for a day trip via the train but if you would like any ideas there is a travel library for you to plan your holiday. Extra Pricing Information
1/3 of the holiday price is required as a deposit to secure your booking - in good faith this is not refundable. Full balance is to be paid 30 days prior to arrival when your balance is paid we would require a security/loss/damage deposit of £75 per booked week and once the property has been checked and found in order this will be returned to you within 4 weeks less a small charge for electricity and gas. The meters will be read on your arrival and read on your departure.
