Property Details

General Description
Our house is ideal for families and anyone wishing to avoid the expense and bustle of Nice or Chamonix. We are situated halfway between the Sea and 5-6 of Pyrenean Ski resorts. All this and a lot more can be reached within 30-50 minutes.
The house contains 6 rooms on 2 floors, 135 square meters. Ñentral heating, an air-conditioner on the 1st floor. Our house will comfortably accommodate 2-10 people in all possible combinations. And Prades is an activity heaven enjoyable all year round.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms
2 bedrooms on the first floor with a 160 cm double bed and a wardrobe in each. 2 bedrooms on the geound floor: 1 with a double bed, 1 with twin beds. Both with a wardrobe.

Living Areas
A large dining-sitting room on teh first floor, with a TV and a door to the terrace. Air-conditioned. Perfect view, day and night! A smller sitting room on the ground floor with a sofa bed for 2 and a TV.

Kitchen / Dining
Dining-sitting room with a TV, dining space for 10. A separate kitchen equipped with gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, dishes, cutlery, kitchen utensils, electric pot, coffee machine.

Swimming Pool
A municipal pool at a 1 km distance

Outside
There is a garage in the house and a parking space for one more car in front of teh gates. There is a fence around the property. Perfect view from the terrace and the garden.

Location
The position of the house is really perfect, offering cool nights in summer after a hot day on the beach and warm evenings in winter - after a day of skiing. And no mistral! The town centre, a 10 minute stroll, has a lot of restaurants and all the necessary shops, as well as banks and ATMs. A supermarket is in 1.5 km. There is a large municipal swimming pool and tennis courts at a 1 km distance. All kinds of sports, sightseeing, nature watching, hot springs and spas and a lot of wine related activity, the closest wine making village being only 6 km away.
Prades is a very pretty French with a big and colorful market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings where you can buy local produce such as the peaches and cherries that are grown in abundance here, fresh vegetables, wonderful cheeses and the excellent wine. There are events and festivals throughout the year. Spanish cellist Pablo Casals fled to Prades during the Spanish civil war, stayed and established the festival that now bears his name and is held each year for 2 weeks in July-August at Prades itself, but also in the Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa.
There are plenty of things to do all year round. The skiing season starts in December and often lasts through into April. The main resorts are at Font Romeu - Pyrenees 2000 (40 pistes, 52 km in total) and Les Angles (32 pistes, 40 km in total). Swimming –at the lake Vinca at a 10 km distance or at a water sports park (40 km) or at any coastal resort you can choose from a large range of (45 km to the closest).Wind surfing, water skiing at most coastal resorts. Diving at Argeles, Banyuls, Port Vendres, Bacares, St Cyprien and Collioure. Golf at Font Romeu there is a 9 hole golf course at a beautiful mountain setting. St Cyprien-Plage has a 27 hole golf course. Spas and thermal baths in Vernet-les-Bains (Rheumatology) and Molitg-les-Bains (Respiratory pathologies and Skin diseases). Outstanding natural sulphurous hot springs in wonderful outdoor mountain setting in St Thomas les Bains. Casino and night club in Vernet les Bains, wine making village – just 6 km away. And a lot more!

Changeover Details
Changeover day is flexible. 25% required for booking the rest to be paid 8 weeks prior to coming. We now can accept major credit cards.

Extra Details
How to get there
By air: Our house is only 40 km from the airport of Perpignan. Ryanair flies to Perpignan once a day (or twice during high season) from Stansted. During the summer FlyBE have a daily service from Birmingham and Southampton. And BMIBaby now flies from Mancester. There are also 5 other airports within a 3 -hour drive: Girona, Carcassone, Montpellier, Barcelona, and Toulouse.
By railway: You can use Eurostar and TGV to Perpignan.
And once you`ve got here - you can either use the local railway to Prades (the station is in 700 m from the house) or hire a car (there is a garage in the house and also a parking space in front of the gate). In any case that won`t take you more than 45 minutes - during the busiest time of the season.
By car: we are only 1 km away from N116, linked with the A9 Motorway from Barcelona to central France.
