The Old School House is an attractive 3 bedroom detached cottage in the popular Lakeland village of Threlkeld nr Keswick. Originally the village school -house, the original cottage dates back to the 1780’s, and now offers a high standard of accommodation with superb views across the fells and mountains from all windows.
The cottage is located just a five-minute drive from Keswick but has the advantage of being in the picturesque village of Threlkeld, at the base of the Blencathra mountain, which is very popular with fell walkers. The village is steeped in history with its church dating back to 1573 and its pubs to back to 1688.
The cottage is ideally located for those looking for a picturesque base from which to explore the northern Lakes and fells with many walks and cycling tracks right on the doorstep. There are lovely riverside walks and an old railway line providing a pleasant way to cycle or walk to Keswick. There are two good pubs, both serving excellent food, within a short stroll from the cottage. There is also a children`s play area nearby. For keen golfers, just across the road is Keswick golf club, which is open to visitors.
