Charning 19th century former quarryman`s cottage, set ihigh in the hills of Northumberland, with spectacular views of the Cheviot Hills and Scottish Borders. Self-catering spacious cottage with woodburning stove, sleeps 3/4. Pets are welcome at no extra charge.
Bedrooms / Bathrooms
Upstairs there are two bedrooms and the bathroom. The double bedroom with kingsize bed, dressing table and ample storage space. The second bedroom has a single, adult size bed and storage in a built-in wardrobe. All bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. The bathroom has a bath with shower above, fitted with a thermostatic mixer valve, WC and washbasin. Instant hot water supplied by combu boiler.
Living Areas
Spacious lounge with comfortable seating, central heating and wood-burning stove set in fireplace, dining table with 4 chairs and a colour TV, DVD and music system are provided. From the lounge you enter the Sunroom, which has a double bed settee and two traditional rocking chairs. The Sunroom offeres wonderful views of the garden, surrounding countryside and Cheviot Hills.
Kitchen / Dining
The cottage has a seperate, well-equipped kitchen, providing an electric oven and four-burner gas hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and many extras for the more ambitious cooks amaong our guests.
Outside
There is a large, well maintained garden with beautiful viwes over the open countryside, Cheviot Hills and Scottish Border, garden furniture and BBQ provided.
Opposite the front door there is private parking for one, possibly two cars.
Location
Wanney Cottage is situated on a private farm track, 250 metres off the A68 in the small village of Ridsdale. The cottage is in a peaceful location, offering all modern facilities and private parking. Idially suited for exploring the Nothumberland National Park, Kielder Water, Hadrians Wall, The Pennine Way, Alnwick Gardens and the beautiful Northumberland Coast with its deserted beaches and picturess fishing villages. If youy fancy a bit of shopping, the famous Gateshead Metro Shopping Centre is only a 45 minutes drive away, so is the vibrant city of Newcastle with many attractions and art and music events.
Changeover Details
The cottage is usually let for one week from Saturday to Saturday. Short or breaks may be available out of high season. Please ask for details.
To book the cottage a 25% deposit is required payable by cheque or postal order and the remainder is due 6 weeks before the start of the holiday.
Extra Details
We are child friendly, cot and highchair are available on request.
Dogs or other small pets are welcome by prior arrangement.
Smoking is permitted but restricted to kitchen and outdoors only in consideration other guests.
