General Description
A warm Irish welcome awaits you here in the heart of the superbly unspoilt, southern French countryside of the Aude, Languedoc-Roussillon in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
The 200 year old farmhouse has 3 double bedrooms and is comfortable & rustic maintaining its old world charm with exposed beams, wood floors, tiled floors, white washed walls and log stove. It is fully equipped for 6-8 people. We are very child friendly and have a range of equipment available free to guests for younger children.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms
There are 2 double bedrooms and a 3rd mezzanine double bedroom. There are also a further 2 single beds.

Living Areas
Lounge area is comfortable and has a double sofa bed/couch. There is a log burning stove for any off-season breaks where nights might be cooler or if you like the romance of it. The lounge also contains a seating area with dinig table and chairs for 6-8 people. An antique dresser contains all the crockery needed.

Kitchen / Dining
The seperate kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, gas cooker, microwave, coffee/tea facilities etc.

Swimming Pool
We have an above ground 6m in diamter pool that is available for guests use. ALL children not matter their ages must be supervised at all times by their parents.

Outside
Outside the farmhouse is your own private garden area equipped with sun loungers, parasol and BBQ. The solid wood picnic table has seating for 6.

Location
We are situated on our own private lands of 50 hectares of gardens, woods and fields yet only minutes from the charming village of Couiza and its restaurants, bars, boulangerie, supermarket etc., and only 15 minutes from the bustling town of Limoux. There are many restaurants within a short drive in Rennes-le-Chateau, Alet-Les-Bains, Rennes-Les-Bains, Limoux and Quillan. This location makes our gîtes an ideal all year round base.
We are a short 40 minute drive (39kms) south west of the city of Carcassonne (world heritage site) with its airport & direct international flights, walled medieval city with its 52 towers.
Having a Mediterranean climate, with an average of 300 days of sunshine every year and surrounded by a richness of local history and culture, makes it a great place to come and stay all year round.
The region is renowned as “Le Pays Cathare” with its many medieval castles, abbeys, towns and villages dating back over 800 years. The famous Canal Du Midi passes through the centre of the new town of Carcassonne and the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed from boat trips along the canal.
Local activities inlcude; walking(various levels), cycling (various levels), swimming, Golf, canoeing/kayaking/white water rafting, accro parks, safari park, tennis, table tennis, thermal spas & treatments, rock-climbing, caving, horse-riding and of course skiing in the Pyrenees,
Getting here is easy but a car is a necessity in this area.
Carcassonne airport - 40 minutes
Perpignan airport - 1.5 hours
Toulouse airport - 1.5 hours
Beziers airport - 1.5 hours

Changeover Details
Saturday to Saturday. New arrivals are very welcome after 4pm and departures are before 10am to allow full cleaning of the farmhouse unless by prior arrangement. Booking form and Terms and conditions available.

Extra Details
A welcome bottle of local wine or a bottle of the famous Blanquette de Limoux (sparkling wine discovered before Champagne!) is offered on arrival. Information packs on the huge variety of things to do in this fabulous area is available. We can help organise any trips that you would like to try.
