Property Details

General Description
Villa with 3 simply furnished apartments within walking distance of a sandy beach and cafes/restaurants, located in a picturesque seaside village. Amaliapolis is a situated on a large bay in the Pagasitic Gulf on the east coast of Greece, 53km south of the city of Volos and more or less midway between Athens and Thessaloniki. It is an area much appreciated by Greek holiday makers but largely untouched by foreign tourism. Several other nice beaches are within easy driving distance and many archaeological sites.

Each apartment sleeps up to 4 people. Two 42sq.m apartments on the second floor have sea views and several balconies to make the best of the sun. There is similar sized apartment on the ground floor with direct acces to the garden.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms
Each apartment has one bedroom with twin beds and air-con (except ground floor apartment). Bathroom has full sized bath with over-bath shower, washbasin and WC.

Living Areas
Each apartment has an open plan living room with a double sofa bed and cooking facilities.

Kitchen / Dining
Kitchen area is part of the living room and is well equipped with hob, oven, fridge, utlensils, pans and crockery.

Outside
Large shadyenclosed garden with barbecue and garden furniture. Olive trees and a variety of fruit trees. Parking for up to 3 cars.

Location
In the village centre you will find a choice of cafes/bars and tavernas, with excellent fish, three of which stay open all year, all within walking distance of the villa. The village also has two bakeries and two general stores. The beach is also within walking distance of the apartments and is sandy and gently sloping - making it very suitable for young children. There is also a children’s playground, 5-a-side football pitch and volleyball court next to the beach. In high season there are 2 beach bars. In summer Amaliapolis is popular with holidaying Greek families. You can experience the `real` Greece here largely untouched by mass market tourism. Sit in the village square looking out over the sea and watch the world go by.

As well as the village beach there are several good beaches within a 30 minute drive. You can also take a boat trip to the island of Skiathos from the nearby village of Achillion. The area of Magnesia is rich in archaeological sites including Ancient Thebes, Prehistoric Dimini, Sesklo and Dimitras. Volos is a bustling small city with a wide range of shops, restaurants and ferry links to the nearby islands of Skiathos, Alonissos and Skopelos. The Pelion Peninsula is within driving distance with beautiful scenery - a good day trip. In winter there is even a ski resort on the peninsula! Explore the seaside villages or drive up into the mountains for breathtaking views.

If you want to venture further afield both classical Delphi (approx 120km) and the Byzantine monasteries of Meteora (approx 180km) make fascinating excursions as does the lesser known archaeological site of Dion (approx 170km).

Changeover day flexible.
25% deposit payable upon booking with balance payable 8 weeks before commencement of rental period.
Discount for rentals of 3 weeks or more.
Miinimum stay 3 nights, except July/August 7 nights.

Extra Details
Rental includes linen and towels, air-con/heating according to season (except for ground floor apartment) and electricity.
